Welcome to Long Swim!

Hi, I'm Harriet. I grew up swimming on the Mornington Peninsula. I remember learning to body surf; the joy of a successful wave, and the pain of clearing out sand-gunk from my eyes after being dumped. I remember the blister sunburns from long beach days and the cool of something called "Nice'N Icy", before the days of head-to-toe swim rashies and the "Slip, Slop, Slap" campaigns.

As an adult, I returned to the ocean for triathlon training. However, I struggled, because I couldn't find a decent pair of goggles. I tried various styles. I had only one pair that didn't leak, but I had to tightened them so hard that the skin around my eyes was close to cut, and I feared my eyes would be sucked out of their sockets (which worried me, given a predisposition to glaucoma). 

Luckily, I stumbled on a recommendation for Snake & Pig Sports Basilisk Goggles on a Facebook triathlon group. I had to order them from America, and they were pricey, and, I'm so glad I gave them a shot because I love them - they are comfortable, gentle and don't leak. And, wearing them, I am able to swim faster and longer. 

I believe that the difference with the Basilisk is the patented air-cushion technology. The goggles have low suction and work a bit like an inner tube of a tyre sitting against your skin - there is a seal without the suck. These are the most comfortable goggles I've ever worn.

I reached out to Michael of Snake & Pig Sports (the man behind the goggles), who agreed that I could distribute the goggles in Australia. So, here we are.
